It's a tale of two forecasts for the island state today. Some improvement for Kauai and Oahu, but still very cloudy and wet for Maui County and the Big Island.

Because of the light and variable winds, Oahu still might see some afternoon showers over interior and mauka neighborhoods due to convective heating. Skies will otherwise be hazy with vog lingering. The wet and unstable weather will spread back over Oahu mid-week. High today in Honolulu will be 83 degrees.

Surf is moderating and no significant swells are expected over the next week. Today's surf with be: 4-6 feet north, 3-5 feet east, 1-3 feet west and south.

Flash Flood Watch for Maui and the Big Island with heavy showers and thunderstorms possible until 6:00pm.

Small Craft Advisory for Kauai County waters until 6:00 p.m. due to elevated seas.
