Hawaiian Word of the Day: 'Omole Wai

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Hawaiian Word of the Day is 'omole wai. 'Omole wai is made up of two smaller words, wai meaning water, and 'omole which which is the word for a bottle, jug, or a jar.
Put those two words together and you get 'omole wai, the Hawaiian word for a water bottle. The word 'omole describes particular containers made out of foreign materials like glass or metal. Prior to the introduction of these types of materials, all water bottles were ipu wai, or water gourds. The Hawaiian Word of the Day is 'omole wai.
