Business Report: Hawaiian Airlines, Jamba Juice, Minamoto Kitchen, PBS Hawaii
Hawaiian Airlines is starting to implement new fuel economies on long flights. It's a multi-step program but among other things it involves more frequent in-flight route adjustments to save fuel, and letting airlines customize their routes for the same purpose. Hawaiian is now doing it on flights to Brisbane.
Jamba Juice Hawaii will launch three new offerings – Mahalo Mint Lemonade, Lemonberry Float, and Lemon Cherry Chiller. They're inspired by Lemonade Alley, the entrepreneurship program for children. They'll be unveiled Saturday.
Opening today at Kahala Mall –Minamoto Kitchoan, from Okayama prefecture, a confectionary company that uses fresh natural fruits. Minamoto has hundreds of stores in Japan and has expanded to New York, London, L.A., San Francisco – and Ala Moana Center.
Central Pacific Bank promotes Wayne Kirihara to EVP and Chief Marketing Officer. He's been with the bank since 1988. Patty Foley is now EVP for HR.
PBS Hawaii open its new studios. It has a new two-story building on the former KHNL site at Nimitz Highway and Sand Island Road.
Today at the Museum of Art – the Hawaii Burlesque Festival & Revue – including, and I believe this is the first time I've said this, "boa manipulations." I've manipulated a boa on the air, just never said the phrase.
