LAHAINA, MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) - The governor on Thursday will fly over and visit storm-damaged areas on Maui.

Gov. David Ige plans to take a two-hour aerial tour of flood-damaged areas, before visiting a storm-damaged community.

The tour follows initial damage assessments conducted by the Hawaii National Guard and FEMA over the weekend.

Iao Valley saw major damage from flooding last week, and Maui Mayor Alan Arakawa has issued an emergency proclamation to speed up clean-up efforts.
