Pacific University wins first ever NCAA DIII football game in Hawaii
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Pacific University football team beat Occidental College 45-22 in the first ever division III football game held in Hawaii.
The boxers led the tigers wire to wire Kunuiakea Stadium on the campus of Kamehameha Kapalama. Pacific went up early, scoring 14 unanswered points in the first quarter on a 16-yard rush by St. Louis alum, Kamana Pimental, followed by a 26-yard touchdown pass from Campbell Summerfield to Kobe Williams less than 30 seconds later.
While a 68-yard touchdown pass from Occidental's Bryan Scott to Dan Gittleman-Egan in the third quarter, the tigers were unable to make a comeback. The boxers held them to just 15 points in the second half while scoring 18 points of their own.
