HILO, BIG ISLAND (HawaiiNewsNow) - A Brown Water Advisory has been issued for all of the Big Island due to heavy rains on Wednesday, the state Department of Health said.

The public is asked to stay out of flood waters and storm water runoff due to possible overflowing cesspools, sewer manholes, pesticides, animal fecal matter, dead animals, pathogens, chemicals, and associated flood debris.

If the water is brown, stay out.

Tropical Storm Madeline passed south of the Big Island on Wednesday, bringing heavy rains and flooding conditions.
