UH Board of Regents approves new cancer center director
KAKAAKO, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The University of Hawaii Cancer Center may soon be getting a new director.
The UH Board of Regents on Thursday approved Dr. Randall Holcombe as the new director. Holcombe currently serves as chief medical officer for cancer for the Mount Sinai Heath System in New York City.
He has yet to officially accept the position, but if he does, his annual salary would be $410,000 with a start date of Sept. 1.
The UH Cancer Center has been struggling in the recent past with financial problems and is currently led by interim director Dr. Jerris Hedges after the resignation of the center's controversial former director, Dr. Michele Carbone.
