Preparations underway for 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor

75th Pearl Harbor Commemoration

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The 75th Commemoration of Pearl Harbor Committee has announced the launch of an unprecedented series of events in honor of the 75th Commemoration of the attack on Pearl Harbor.  Themed, "Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future," the Commemoration will highlight ceremonial tributes with programs and events from December 1—11, 2016, and are designed to attract thousands of global visitors and Hawaii residents.

Centered around National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day on December 7th, other ceremonies and events include Memorials dedicated to USS Utah and USS Oklahoma, the reconciliation "Blackened Canteen Ceremony" at the USS Arizona Memorial, a luncheon honoring the units of Americans of Japanese Ancestry, a Pearl Harbor documentary film premiere, historic movie series on Waikiki Beach, Pearl Harbor Survivor Gala Tribute, Celebration for Veterans, Active Duty Military and their families, and a culminating, world-class live concert that is being planned at Aloha Stadium.
