HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Mayor Kirk Caldwell received his first major endorsement for his re-election campaign from the Hawaii Construction Alliance.
The Alliance, which is made up of 15,000 construction workers made its announcement on Thursday.
Members say they support Caldwell for another four years because of his commitment to improving Oahu's infrastructure and keeping them employed.
"The mayor has delivered on all of his promises, taking care of our infrastructure, our sewer needs, our housing but more importantly when we interviewed him 4 years ago he promised to keep his eyes and hands on the ball in regard to rail and he has never flinched from that he has pushed the rail forward and continues to be at the forefront of our rail project," said Alliance member, Pane Meatoga Jr. said.
The announcement was made at at 801 South Street, a workforce housing project in the heart of Honolulu that has employed hundreds of workers.
