HPD traffic officer accused of DUI

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - An HPD traffic officer is accused of being drunk and causing an accident over the weekend.
Brent Sylvester, a 41-year-old motorcycle officer in the traffic division was arrested on Sunday morning for driving under the influence.
Sources say he caused an accident then left the scene. The victim reportedly followed him.
Sylvester has been on the force for 13 years and will have his police powers removed during the investigation.
