Big Island police open murder investigation after body found in Waipio Valley

WAIPIO VALLEY, BIG ISLAND (HawaiiNewsNow) - Big Island police have opened a murder investigation after a body was found partially submerged in a stream in Waipio Valley on Thursday.
The victim has been identified as 49-year-old Thaine Ulysses Lucifer Price of Honokaa.
Police responded just before 6 p.m. following reports of an unresponsive man in a small stream. Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of a Caucasian male.
The man was taken to the Hilo Medical Center where he was officially pronounced dead.
An autopsy is scheduled Friday morning to determine the exact cause of death.
