WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu police arrested two people Monday afternoon after a fight erupted in the ABC store on Liliuokalani Avenue.

The incident began around 4:30 p.m. when a store manager stopped a woman who tried to steal a pair of slippers, police said.

Police say a fight began in the store, knocking over shelves in the process.

The first responding officer called for help and at least 11 police cars showed up.

Police eventually got the situation under control and took the suspects, 23-year-old Tyrone Britt and 18-year-old Joanna Soria, away in handcuffs.

Britt and Soria were initially arrested on suspicion of second-degree robbery, but were later charged with third-degree assault.
