HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Savor these cooling trade winds and sunny skies! Remnants of former tropical storm Enrique will move in over the weekend and significantly change our weather.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service say the moderate to breezy trades will last through Friday. Only a few passing showers are expected.
Then starting Friday night, the remnants of Enrique will begin passing to the north of the islands, decreasing the winds and increasing the humidity by Saturday night into Sunday.
The lighter trade winds will allow for afternoon clouds and showers, which will be enhanced by moisture from the former tropical cyclone. Most of the showers will happen on Sunday afternoon, and mostly for leeward and interior areas of the islands..
The disturbance will move west of the state by early next week, but it might be Wednesday before we feel the stronger trade winds move in.
