Firefighters put out fire on French cable ship in Honolulu Harbor

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - More than 40 firefighters rushed to Honolulu Harbor Tuesday night where they put out a fire on board a French cable ship.
The fire – reported before 7:45 p.m. – started in the generator room of the nearly 470-foot ship, according to the Honolulu Fire Department. Firefighters managed to extinguish the flames by 9:50 p.m.
HFD personnel remained on scene to assist crew members.
No injuries were reported and no fuel spills were detected.
