Suspect accused of stabbing mother, children released from police custody
HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The man accused of stabbing a woman and her two children was released from police custody.
Brandon Lorenz walked out of the Honolulu Police Department cell block about 4 p.m. Wednesday, 48 hours after he turned himself in and was arrested for attempted murder and burglary.
28-year old Megan Isomura, her 8-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son were all stabbed multiple times Monday morning while they slept in their Kalihi apartment. Lorenz is Isomura's on-again, off-again boyfriend.
All three victims remain in the hospital in serious condition.
Marcus Landsberg says his client is innocent and helping police track down the attacker, "Mr Lorenz did give a statement on the situation. I believe the police took that into consideration. I don't want to say too much else about where they got other information that caused them to believe that he shouldn't be in custody at the time."
Lorenz was released while detectives continue to investigate the crime.
