SCHOFIELD BARRACKS (HawaiiNewsNow) - Residents in the communities surrounding Schofield Barracks should anticipate an increase in noise through Friday as U.S. Marines conduct field artillery training.

The effects of training vary depending on weather conditions. Overcast conditions may increase noise and vibrations. Smoke may be visible for a short time; however, there is no immediate danger.

U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii says, "While sometimes loud and inconvenient, the military in Hawaii appreciates the community's understanding and continued support as we ensure our nation's service members are ready to accomplish any mission."

To report concerns related to noise or training, community members can call the U.S. Army Garrison-Hawaii (USAG-HI) Noise Concern Line at (808) 656-3487, or email usaghi.pao.comrel@us.army.mil.
