HONOLULU (AP) - The head of the National Rifle Association will be in Honolulu Saturday to celebrate Republican victories across the country.

The NRA's Jim Porter will be at a party to honor veterans and to celebrate the right to bear arms at the Pearl Country Club in Aiea at 6 p.m.

Porter helped organize what he called a resurgence of conservatism across the country on election night.

Tickets cost $65 for non-members. Proceeds will benefit the Hawaii Republican Assembly's political super PAC HIRA Action which is committed to expanding the influence of conservative policies in Hawaii.
