MANOA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The UH football team welcomed head coach Norm Chow back into the fold this morning.
Chow conducted practice for the 'Bows just five days after his wife underwent surgery for a brain aneurysm. Chow's demeanor was even-tempered during the 90-minute practice. His wife, Diane is still recovering in an ICU at a hospital in California -- sources say her health continues to improve.
Diane underwent two brain surgeries during the weekend -- Norm remained by her side until Monday night. Their children are said to be watching over diane while chow is back in the islands.
When I asked why it was important to attend practice today: "This is our football team. I just felt like it was necessary." Chow responded. "I'm fine. We'll get through this."
Safety Taz Stevenson said this will be a moment to rally the team.
"We're all family members here and whenever one family member goes down, we do whatever we can do to pick them up. We stand behind each others back through thick and thin. This win would be great for him and great for the rest of the guys and the state of hawaii as well to come out with this win."
