Big Island
The Hawaii State Department of Education (DOE) will close public schools through Friday, Aug. 8 on Hawaii Island.
State offices on Hawaii Island will close at noon tomorrow, Aug. 7, and remain closed all day Friday, Aug. 8.
The University of Hawai'i at Hilo and Hawai'i Community College, along with its West Hawai'i Education Center on Hawai'i Island will be closed all day on Thursday, Aug. 7 and Friday, Aug. 8.
Kanu o ka 'aina and Malamapokii Preschool will be closed to all on Thursday, Aug. 7 and Friday, Aug. 8 due to the pending storm. All KALO and KANU afterschool and evening programs as well as community programs scheduled at Kauhale ‘Oiwi o Puukapu located at 64-1043 Hi‘iaka Street, Kamuela, Hawaii are canceled.
PACT Head Start classrooms on Hawaii Island closed this Thursday, Aug. 7 and Friday, Aug. 8.
Kamehameha Schools announced that all its educational programs and offices on Hawaii Island will be closed on both Thursday at 2 p.m. and Friday this week, in anticipation of Hurricane Iselle. This includes the campus at Keaau, KS Preschools island-wide, Resource Centers in West and East Hawaii, and other business sites.
Kaiser Permanente will be closing all Big Island facilities at noon on Thursday. Pending facility assessments Friday morning, Big Island facilities will open for appointments at 10 a.m. The Mobile Health Vehicle will be closed Thursday and Friday.
State Courthouses and Judiciary Offices on Hawaii Island will be closed beginning at noon on Thursday, Aug. 7 through Friday, Aug. 8.
Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) will close all of its managed lands, including forest reserves, wildlife sanctuaries, natural area reserves, Na Ala Hele hiking trails, game management areas, including Keanakolu cabins, Ainapo hiking trail, Muliwai trail and Waimanu valley campground until further notice. DOFAW has suspended issuing camping permits.
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park will close all back country areas and certain roads in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, effective 6 p.m. Wednesday evening. Kilauea Visitor Center and Jaggar Museum will close at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8.

Five First Hawaiian Bank branches on the Big Island – Hilo, Kamuela, Kealakekua, Kona and Waikoloa -- will be open Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to assist customers. The Pahoa, Kamehameha, and Honokaaa branches will remain closed Friday.

has announced the following closures of County facilities:
- ALL County swimming pools will close at noon on Thursday until further notice.
- Waiehu Golf Course will issue final tee times at noon on Thursday and remain closed until further notice.
