HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Geeks are in and they have the perfect apps just in time for election season.
Burt and Ryan drop by Sunrise to explain the Civic Celerator which they took part in organizing. For more info on the Civic Celerator, you can visit http://civic.celerator.org/.
Through the Civic Celerator, you can access apps such as Power Ballot, which allows users to zoom in on an election precinct and gather details on the candidates they are interested in via Twitter, Facebook, and Wikipedia. Power ballot can be viewed at http://civic-celerator.maps.arcgis.com/apps/OnePane/basicviewer/index.html?appid=eabd4dbf3fcb48468cd92587b2d8729c
Another helpful voting tool you can find within the Civic Celerator is the Campaign Funding Information page which allows you to see campaign funding information for the candidates running in Hawaii House and Senate races. This page can be found at http://uhero.github.io/civic_celerator/?precinct=34-02.
On the flip side, at http://viz.hawaiicampaignspending.com/, you can view how your current and potential politicians are spending their campaign money.
