HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Olive Garden is putting its Hawaii debut on pause. Hawaii News Now confirmed Monday afternoon that the Italian-food chain is postponing the opening of its first Hawaii restaurant at the Kapolei Commons Shopping Center.
The Honolulu developer, The MacNaughton Group, says it received word last week that the project would be postponed indefinitely as Olive Garden reduces its nationwide expansion plans.
The goal had been to open the restaurant in Kapolei by June of 2015.
The MacNaughton group says the space Olive Garden would have occupied has already been offered to another tenant.
