55 Honolulu Police officers promoted

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu Police Chief Louis Kealoha promoted 55 officers Wednesday in a ceremony at the Neil Blaisdell Arena.

28 officers are rising through the ranks to the Corporal position.

There are 15 new Sergeants and Detectives.

No chiefs were added but there are 3 more Majors, 3 new Captains and 6 more Lieutenants.

The promotions take effect this Sunday.

The three new majors and their assignments are:

  • Ryan Borges - District 4 (Kailua-Kaneohe-Kahuku)
  • Gordon Shiraishi  - Training Division
  • Calvin Tong - District 7 (East Honolulu)

The three new captains and their assignments are:

  • Keith Horikawa - Criminal Investigation Division
  • Benjamin Mahi - District 1 (Central Oahu)
  • Allan Nagata - Communications Division

The six new lieutenants and their assignments are:

  • David Ardren - Criminal Investigation Division
  • Jonathan Carreiro - Communications Division
  • Phillip Lavarias - Criminal Investigation Division
  • Erwin Okita - Central Receiving Division
  • Steven Ono - Criminal Investigation Division
  • Thomas Santos III - Community Affairs Division

The 15 officers promoted to sergeants or detectives and their assignments are:

  • Dennis Ahn - Criminal Investigation Division
  • Miya Brouwer - District 1 (Central Honolulu)
  • Alex Duyag - Professional Standards Office
  • Gabriel Gonsalves III - District 8 (Kapolei-Waianae)
  • Jon Hinazumi - Criminal Investigation Division
  • Anson Kimura - Community Affairs Division
  • Mark Kono -Criminal Investigation Division
  • Julianne Kusuda - Human Resources Division
  • Anthony Matchen - District 6 (Waikiki)
  • Darrel Oliver - District 6 (Waikiki)
  • Clifford Ramson - District 7 (East Honolulu)
  • Ivan Sanches - District 8 (Kapolei-Waianae)
  • Silvin Siquig - Professional Standards Office
  • Eutiquio Tomimbang Jr. - Criminal Investigation Division
  • Sharon Walden - Professional Standards Office

The 28 new officers promoted to corporals and their assignments are:

  • Roberto Cadiz - District 7 (East Honolulu)
  • Richmond Casabar - District 4 (Kailua-Kaneohe-Kahuku)
  • David Cavaco - District 5 (Kalihi)

  • David Deitschman - District 1 (Central Honolulu)
  • Damien Freitas - District 4 (Kailua-Kaneohe-Kahuku)
