HONOLULU (AP) - President Barack Obama is hitting the golf course in Hawaii with New Zealand Prime Minister John Key.

The two leaders teed off on a sunny and breezy morning on the island of Oahu. They're at a course on a military base near Obama's rented vacation home. Key's son and Obama's personal aide completed the foursome.

Obama is an avid golfer, but he rarely expands his playing partners outside a small circle of close friends and advisers.

Among those who have received a rare invite to play with the president in the past are former President Bill Clinton and Republican House Speaker John Boehner.

Key became prime minister of New Zealand in 2008.
