Gov. Abercrombie to announce 2014 unemployment insurance tax rate

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Gov. Neil Abercrombie and the state Department of Labor and Industrial Relations will announce on Thursday the unemployment insurance tax rate for 2014.
Each year, DLIR evaluates the balance of the Hawaii Unemployment Compensation Trust Fund, which determines the rates employers pay in unemployment taxes for the following year.
The meeting will take place at 2 p.m. in the executive office ceremonial room of the state Capitol, but can be streamed online.
