HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Richard Schuman says the so-called 'birthers' have hit a new low.

The President of Makani Kai Air is speaking specifically to New York businessman Donald Trump.

Trump tweeted about the crash off of Moloka'i.  The tweet pointed out that only State Department of Health Director Loretta Fuddy died in Wednesday's crash, and that Fuddy was the state official who verified President Obama's birth certificate back in 2011.

Schuman says the tweet implies that Fuddy was targeted and that the crash was part of a government cover-up.

"The conspiracy theory," says Schuman, "I kinda took that a little personal that my company or my crew or my people had anything to do with (it) such idiotic nonsense."

Almost all of the 'reply' tweets to Trump were similar in nature.  Most described the implication as ridiculous.

Makani Kai Air has had a stellar safety record up until now.
