HONOLULU (AP) - Gov. Neil Abercrombie plans to declare October fashion month in Hawaii starting this year.

Hawaii Fashion Month will feature multiple fashion shows and other events including a presentation highlighting the link between film and fashion.

The month will end with the Governor's Fashion Awards.

The focus will be on bringing Hawaii's fashion community together to learn, showcase, sell and connect.

Abercrombie will officially announce Hawaii Fashion Month on Tuesday together with state officials and representatives from Hawaii Fashion Incubator, an organization that promotes Hawaii fashion as art and industry.
