MAPUNAPUNA (HawaiiNewsNow) - An 8-inch water main broke on Ahua Street between Kaihikapu and Mokumoa Streets in Mapunapuna early Monday morning near Hawaii Self Storage, causing the road to buckle up.
The break occurred just after 3 a.m.
Crews managed to cut off the water flow, but it is not clear if any buildings were flooded. Storm drains are draining the water away effectively.
Nine commercial businesses are affected by the break. A water wagon will be provided.
Board of Water Supply crews are on scene and say it is going to take all day to clean up the mess from the break.
