American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC) on Monday announced a Chapter 11 restructuring that will wind down and discontinue its new automobile sales in the continental U.S. It will instead focus on its motorcycle, all-terrain vehicle and marine outboard engine divisions.
As the sole distributor of Suzuki automobiles in Hawaii, Servco Automotive is studying the impact of this announcement on its Hawaii operations.
"We want to reassure our Suzuki customers that Suzuki Hawaii will honor all warranties and will continue to provide parts and service for their automobiles without interruption at Suzuki dealerships across the state," stated Rick Ching, Servco Automotive President. "If you have any questions in regard to this announcement, we encourage you to call our Suzuki Customer Care line at (808) 839-2273."
Suzuki automobiles are currently sold through Servco Toyota dealerships on Oahu and Kauai, Servco Lexus Maui and Big Island Toyota. According to the latest Polk study, Suzuki automobiles account for 0.3% of total vehicle sales in the state.
