(HawaiiNewsNow) - This October 2012, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Pure Ecommerce.com's CEO Jennifer Varner plans to give a breast cancer survivor who resides in Hawaii the opportunity to own their own ecommerce business. Jennifer, a three-year breast cancer survivor and a resident of Maui, "hopes to show others fighting this disease, that life does go on after cancer and great things can be in store for them!"
Between October 1 and October 31, 2012, Pure-Ecommerce will hold a very special auction just for breast cancer survivors who reside in Hawaii.
Being auctioned is one of Pure-Ecommerce's Pure Sports Gifts plus 40 hours of full consulting and mentoring.
Pure-Ecommerce will work with the winner taking them through every aspect of setting up, running, and then growing their retail ecommerce business.
The highest bidder will be notified and listed on Pure-Ecommerce.com, jennifervarner.com and Pure-Ecommerce's Facebook page.
Proceeds from the auction will go to the Pacific Cancer Foundation's 4th Annual Paddle for Life Maui event to help support the Patient Navigation program for uninsured and underinsured women in Maui County. Karli Smallwood, Certified Patient Navigator, helps patients find resources and support services on the island, such as the High Risk Breast Cancer Screening program provided by PCF, as well as where to locate community resources and state assistance. Varner and her family moved to Maui recently, and she wanted to give back to the community, especially to those whose lives have been affected by cancer.
While battling breast cancer Jennifer came to Hawaii twice for month-long periods. "Being here amongst the ocean and mountains helped me heal tremendously. One day, after an amazing close encounter out on my paddle board with a whale and its baby, I knew I needed to move here. So about one month after my final surgery, I moved to Maui. I have come here to heal both emotionally and physically. I have come to show my children a different way of life. I have come to experience and show aloha to the people of Maui."
Jennifer's family has been touched not once but twice with cancer. Her husband Jeff was diagnosed with cancer just three weeks after their wedding. Three years ago, Jennifer found out she herself had invasive breast cancer after celebrating the 10th year of her husband being free from colon cancer. At the time, she was three months pregnant and her greatest fear was for the health of her unborn child. She chose to fight the cancer and underwent chemotherapy and multiple surgeries all while being pregnant!
"Today my husband is cancer free! Today I am cancer free! Most importantly, my baby, Kilian, is perfect! He is a survivor too; he took that long hard journey with me. Through these events, I have gained so much wisdom and strength - more than I ever had, and more then I knew I could gain in a lifetime. I live every moment, every day like it's my last. But I know it's not. I plan on having an amazing future. I have overcome and thrived. Now it's my desire to give back to another survivor who has overcome, and give them the possibility of an exciting, new future."
