Oldest flight attendant retires with final trip to Hawaii

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - After 64 years in the skies, the world's oldest flight attendant has finally hung up his wings.
Ron Akana, of Honolulu, started his career for United Airlines in 1949. He was hired when Harry Truman was president.
The 83 year old has clocked about 20 million miles over the years, equivalent to approximately 800 trips around the globe.
Akana currently resides in Denver, Colo., but on Sunday night he ended his career with one last flight to Hawaii.
