Honolulu mayor to help test DaBus mobile app
HONOLULU (AP) - Honolulu Mayor Peter Carlisle will join other residents in testing the city's new bus application for mobile devices this week.
The city is inviting residents to use the applications and ride TheBus to the Greenhouse Innovation Hub in Kakaako on Thursday and share their experiences.
The mayor himself plans to ride to the meeting by boarding a bus near Honolulu Hale.
Carlisle said in a statement Monday the city hopes to see how well the applications track bus locations and estimate arrival times.
The city's bus applications include the DaBus app on the iPhone, and the Internet applications Allb.us and Hea.TheBus.org.
