UPDATE: Offers of help for woman with terminal cancer

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Friends of a woman with terminal cancer say they've been swamped with emails and phone calls after our story yesterday asking for someone to adopt her three Great Danes.

Former police outreach worker Sharon Black is trying to find a new home for her three certified therapy dogs.

Her friends have received emails from Canada, Virginia, New Mexico, Minnesota and Hawaii.

The Great Danes age 4 through 9 live with Black in her Aiea townhouse and she hopes someone will take care of all three dogs so they can stay together.

Her friends say after TV news stories appealing for help yesterday they've received more than 100 emails and about 75 phone calls from people interested in helping.

Black is fighting lung cancer that has spread to her bones, brain and liver. She may only have weeks to live.
