Kurt Suzuki to hold youth baseball clinic on Maui

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Major League Baseball catcher and Wailuku native Kurt Suzuki is partnering with All Pono to conduct a Youth Baseball Clinic this Saturday, January 14th, on Maui.

The Iron Maehara Stadium will play host to this first-time event that will be open to the public for youth ages 8-18 on a limited basis.

Registration forms are being accepted for the first 120 youth, ages 8-13 and the first 100 youth, ages 14-18.

The Clinic will reinforce the fundamentals of hitting, throwing, base running and catching. While Kurt will be moving from station to station providing instruction and demonstration in each area, other local baseball coaches will be on hand to assist in each group.

Due to the large number and age range of the participants, the Clinic will be split into two flights. Between 9:00am and noon, youth ages 8-13 will participate in a two and a half hour clinic, followed by lunch and a raffle prize giveaway. In the afternoon, youth ages 14-18 will take the field between 1:30pm and 4:00pm, also followed by a light snack and raffle prize giveaway.

All 220 participants will receive a Nike gift bag as a memento of their participation.
