KANEOHE & KAILUA (HawaiiNewsNow) - The cost of the First Family's holiday vacation in Hawaii continues to cause controversy.

A British Newspaper is now attacking Michelle Obama's "lavish" vacation wardrobe.

Some analysis of her fashion choices has revealed that her outfits have been consistently high-end.

For example, the dress the First Lady chose to wear for a church service at the Kaneohe Bay Marine Base on Christmas Day was by Sophie Theallet, which would set her back almost $2,000.

Later, Mrs. Obama chose to wear a Des Garcons skirt for a gathering with service members and their families. The skirts don't come cheap... a similar one may cost around $950.

Many consider Mrs. Obama's expensive taste at odds with the image she identifies with the average woman.

Others believe it is up to the First Lady to determine what she spends on her wardrobe.
