HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - President Barack Obama has kept a relatively low profile since arriving to Hawaii to join his family for the holidays.

According to officials, he has no public events planned. His only outings are expected to be the golf course or to take his daughters to get shave ice.

Monday morning President Obama spent about an hour working out at Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kaneohe. After the workout the First family went on a hike to 'Pillboxes' in Lanikai.

President Obama will spend the afternoon golfing at Marine Corps Base Kaneohe.

On Sunday, the First Family enjoyed a quiet Christmas on the Windward side.

Hawaii News Now has learned that the family exchanged gifts, sang carols and attended a church service at Marine Corps Base Hawaii.

The First Family also spent time greeting troops and their families.

The Obamas are expected to return to Washington, D.C. Shortly after New Year's Day.
