Former UH football player arrested for vehicle prowling

KENNEWICK, Wash. (HawaiiNewsNow) - A former University of Hawaii Warrior wide receiver was arrested in Washington Tuesday morning on suspicion of prowling cars.

According to the Tri-City Herald, Kennewick police arrested Drew Loftus at about 2:30 a.m. when a woman alerted authorities after her dogs were barking at someone outside.

When officers arrived to the scene, they found Loftus nearby.

Police believe Loftus, 18, may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time.

He was booked at the Benton County jail on suspicion of being a minor under the influence and vehicle prowling.

The Kennewick High School graduate was attending college at the University of Hawaii, where he wide receiver walk-on for the 2011 Warrior season.
