Wastewater spill reported in east Oahu

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A sewer overflow was reported in east Oahu Monday night.

According to officials, 4,200 gallons of raw wastewater flowed onto Poola Street.

The incident happened just before 8 p.m. after roots reportedly clogged an eight-inch sewer pipe.

Crews recovered 1,950 gallons of the mess and sanitized the area.

Officials do not believe it spilled into any storm drains or water.
