HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -  The 2nd annual Rice Festival attracted hungry families to Magic Island on Sunday.  The event included rice cooking demonstrations, recipe competitions and a musubi eating contest.

The star of the Rice Fest was no doubt a gigantic spam musubi.  Volunteers began the world record attempt at 11 am and finished it about six hours later. They used 320 cups of rice, 26 cans of Spam and more than 120 sheets of nori.

The monster musubi weighs 286 pounds.  We'll let you know if Guiness certifies it as a world record.
