HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Rice enthusiasts jammed Magic Island Sunday for the second annual Rice Festival.

The family event included everything there is to know about our favorite starch.

There were rice cooking demonstrations, recipe competitions, and a musubi eating contest.

The star of the Rice Fest was no doubt this gigantic spam musubi.

Volunteers began making it at 11:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

They used 320 cups of rice, 26 cans of spam, and more than 120 sheets of nori.

The monster musubi weighed 286 pounds, and we'll let you know if Guinness certifies it as a world record.
