HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A man accused of trying to steal copper rain gutters from Waianae Elementary School earlier this month pleaded not guilty at his arraignment at Honolulu Circuit Court Monday.

Mosses Keamo is charged with theft of copper, a class C felony punishable by up to five years in prison. He entered his plea via video hook-up from the Oahu Community Correctional Center.

Investigators say a witness called police after observing the suspect cutting off the rain gutters on campus August 12th. Officers arrested the 29-year-old after a brief foot chase.

Keamo's bail is set at $11,000. His trial is tentatively scheduled for October.
