SAIPAN (HawaiiNewsNow) - Federal officials in Micronesia have interviewed the father of two young sisters from Saipan who have been missing for three weeks.
Federal Bureau of Investigation special agent Tom Simon flew there from Hawaii. On Tuesday, he said agents are confident the girls are not in Micronesia and that the father isn't involved in their disappearance.
The girls' mother who lives in Guam has also been interviewed and the girls are not believed to be with her.
"We found no human remains and no evidence of the girls disappearance. We consider this to be a good thing, not a bad thing because it gives us hope that the girls are still alive and are somewhere and can be recovered safely," Simon said.
Faloma Luhk, 10, and Maleina Luhk, 9, were reported missing by their grandparents when they didn't come home on May 25.
