Secretary of the Army makes stop in Hawaii

JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM (HawaiiNewsNow) - Just a few days after the U.S. Defense Secretary stopped in Hawaii, another high-profile visitor toured key military installations in the islands.
Secretary of the Army John McHugh met with military leaders and soldiers as part of his tour of Pacific Command.
He visited the U.S. Army Pacific Headquarters at Fort Shafter, as well as the Joint POW-MIA Command.
McHugh also had a chance to visit wounded warriors at Tripler Army Medical Center, and discuss the role of Hawaii-based troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
"I see a big role for all of our army forces. The 25th has been a critical part of both fights. Major Gen. Bernard Champoux , Head of the 25th, is in Iraq as we speak helping to bring down that theater", said McHugh.
McHugh will now be heading to Okinawa, Japan and the Philippines for an official visit to Asia.
