HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Honolulu Medical Examiner Tuesday confirmed that 44-year-old Kaneohe resident Ryan Suenaga died from multiple blunt force injures when he fell off the hiking trail on Olomana Sunday.

Suenaga had been hiking with a group of friends when they noticed he was missing. As word of his death spread, tributes popped up all over the Internet, where Suenaga was well known among local Twitter and Facebook users.

A tribute is being held for Suenaga at Kissaten, 88 Piikoi St. from 6 to 10 p.m. May 10.

This event is separate from family services.

The tribute asks that everyone wear brightly colored board shorts as Suenaga preferred.
