City removes second giant banyan tree in Manoa

MANOA (HawaiiNewsNow) - The City removed another giant banyan tree in Manoa Tuesday.

It was a safety hazard because the tree that smashed a minivan last week hit another tree on its way down.

Both trees are about 80 feet tall.

Crews spent the afternoon grinding down the stump.

The City is checking the area for more trees that might be hazardous.
