“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of beloved actor, philanthropist, and passionate disability rights advocate RJ Mitte,” they told Deadline.

TMZ was the first to confirm Mitte’s death.

In acting, he was best known for his role as Walter White Jr. in the hit television show “Breaking Bad,” though he had several other roles, appearing in “Switched at Birth,” “The Guardians of Justice,” “Triumph,” and more.

Like his character, Mitte had cerebral palsy and worked to bring about disability awareness and inclusion.

He was an ambassador for the organizations United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children.

He was also the founder of the nonprofit The Mitte Foundation, which offered grants and scholarships to “enrich people’s lives, as well as bringing hope to those in need,” according to the foundation website.

His cause of death was not immediately known.
