Worker hit and killed by falling tree, authorities say

PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV/Gray News) – An arborist died after being hit by a falling tree in Portland earlier this week, according to Portland Fire and Rescue.

Authorities said a member of an arborist team was clearing trees when a tree unrelated to their work uprooted and landed on the worker.

The person was pronounced dead at the scene.

A technical rescue team used a safety rope system to bring the body back to the roadway. The worker’s body was taken to the county medical examiner.
