Department of Public Safety is hiring deputy sheriffs on Oahu, Maui

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - If you have at least one year of law enforcement work experience, you’re eligible to join the Department of Public Safety team.

They are looking for hard-working men and women on Oahu and Maui to join the State Sheriff Division as deputy sheriffs.

Recruitment opens on April 15 on the Department of Human Resources and Development.

In addition to the one year of previous law enforcement experience, applicants must also be a high school graduate, understand complex rules and regulations, file reports and have completed previous work demonstrating said abilities.

After the initial round of recruitment, applicants will take part in a modified Law Enforcement Recruit Class. It will consist of classroom and on-the-job training. Firearms lessons and physical conditioning will be included.
