Rebel SoulJahz to take the stage ahead of UH football’s ‘Island Day’ Spring Game

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The University of Hawaii Rainbow Warrior football team invites the public to a party in Manoa this weekend.

Hosting their “Island Day” Spring Game on Saturday.

Local reggae group Rebel SoulJahz will be performing at the Les Murakami Stadium at 4 p.m. for an hour-long concert. Gates open at 3:30 p.m.

Rainbow Warrior fans can also watch the last scrimmage of spring practice at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex.

Kick off is at 6 p.m. followed by an autograph session with the team.

“It’s basically a party atmosphere. I want this place packed. I want this place rowdy and let’s come have fun with our football boys,” said Head Football Coach Timmy Chang. “They’ve been working out all spring. They can’t wait to see you, come liven this place up.”

The free event is open to the public and will include activities for kids, food trucks, beer gardens, vendors and live entertainment.

Fans are advised to arrive early and to expect heavier than normal traffic in the area.

Parking is $5 and those interested can buy parking passes ahead of time.
