HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The state Department of Transportation is seeking public input on a proposed roundabout in Kahaluu.

DOT said the roundabout would replace the existing T-intersection at Kamehameha Highway and Kahekili Highway.

The state said the roundabout will improve safety, reduce conflicts with left turns, and provide more efficient traffic operations at the intersection and along the highway.

Officials said the project is anticipated to begin construction in February 2023 and will be completed by July 2024.

Those interested can provide comments through May 5.
