Surfer dies after being pulled Oahu’s Laniakea Beach

HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu Emergency Medical Services responded to an unresponsive surfer at Laniakea Beach Sunday morning.
Medical personnel arrived at the scene at around 7:30 a.m.
The man, possibly in his 50s, was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where he later died.
His identity was not immediately available.
Officials remind the public that lifeguards are not present at this location until 9 a.m.
